Sennheiser HD 599 review - Which?
Should you fork out the bills for this one? If you’ve been searching for an impressive dynamic sound with plenty of highs and plenty of lows – and the HD 598 just didn’t cut it for you – I’m willing to bet you’ll love these cans. To my own ears, they sound just a tad cleaner than the 598, but don’t tell the fanboys I said that. But anyway, how about the Sennheiser HD558, should offer you the same "gaming features" as the HD598/HD599. If you are able to push your budget out and want your cake and eat it with DSD/MQA etc. with a high performance DAC and Decent Amp combo with multiple connectivity and output options and future flexibility, then the best budget all round option right now would be:

The 660 is not smooth, bassy or romantic. It is a mix between the 50 and 00. The 700 never was popular, this is Senn’s second try.If you look at the specifications of this amazing headphone, you will be amazed at what the company has to offer. It comes with a frequency range of 12 to 38,500 Hz, which is truly spectacular. You can vary the sound quality to ample highs and lows for any type of music you feel charmed with. AudioQuest is pleased to present Perch—a headphone stand ideal for safely storing and displaying... According to Sennheiser the HD 599 is your first step into the world of audiophile sound and I couldn’t agree more. It’s smooth, easy to like and listen to but you also get good detail and depth resulting in a musical and natural sound. Lower-Bass is excellent. Very good for RapCaviar and other modern rap songs, may get in the way for songs using acoustics but you can EQ that down and problem solved. Doesn't remove detail, just is a distraction to it.
