About this deal

My heart pounded as I looked both ways down the street, wondering if maybe a theatre performance had just ended at the Centre in the Square in Kitchener and the whole cast had come here in costume. Some parts do feel a little bit drawn-out when the descriptions seem to overtake the plot but only in the first half. Once you pass that mark the pace levels out and the story becomes practically unputdownable. This is how Helen's magical journey to Winter begins. A fast paced adventure with hurdles at almost every corner, full of bravery, epic battles, sacrifices, prayers, hope and quite a bit of fun. I loved the world of Winter. The best way I can describe it is The North Pole meets Narnia. There’s magic, hot chocolate, magical creatures, and a robust society that promises exciting future tales. I found it so interesting that Winter was referred to as a snow globe. I feel like there’s more there. If not, I thought this terminology made a great describer that helped me grasp exactly what world I was pulled into. Ice Magic I propped myself up on my elbows, ready for some sort of appropriate Canadian apology, but the person dropped to a knee, and I stilled, eyeing the gray knit scarf covering the lower half of their face.

The Chronicles of Narnia meets Harry Potter. This fantastic winter tale is the perfect blend of classic portal fantasy and the magical world co-existing with our own. This magical Christian fantasy adventure totally hits the spot and got everything right. It is a beautiful reminder of what is truly important in life." ( USA Today best-selling author Astrid V. J.) I consumed this book like fast food, though my tastebuds still tingle with the delectable flavours each character added to the fair. It created a veritable feast for my soul and imagination as I slipped into this world of snow and ice created by Jennifer Kropf, drawn irresistibly down the snow-covered streets of Waterloo. She paints her uncharted world so magnificently that you are left yearning for more as your heart races along with this swift-footed, iridescent adventure of sweetness and high stakes. I slid into the chamber where amber light danced along every surface from the candle on the coffee table, and I dragged a chair across the rug Sylvia told me she found in the Middle East, biting my lips when the chair leg caught a tassel and ripped it right off. Are you alright, Trite? she asked again in a pressing tone that made me think she had somewhere to be. Her accent wasn’t one I recognized. My muscles seized, lurching me to a halt. I thought I was dreaming, but I couldn’t peel my stare away, even though all I could think about was running for my life. PDF / EPUB File Name: A_Soul_as_Cold_as_Frost_-_Jennifer_Kropf.pdf, A_Soul_as_Cold_as_Frost_-_Jennifer_Kropf.epub Never in my sixteen years of life had I believed in things unseen until that day. I had never created an imaginary friend as a child or believed in ghosts or the work of angels. But on that cold December afternoon, everything I knew went up in a gray cloud of smoke. Other times, I got lost in the descriptions. Particularly during action sequences. Sometimes I legitimately had no clue what was going on.

My mittens rubbed my numb face as I looked to where Sylvia had disappeared inside the bakery. She was probably already shuffling a pie into her bag and digging through her purse for change. Zane was amazing. I really, really liked him. I feel like I didn’t get to know him quite as much as I wanted to but I’m hopeful I’ll see him in book two. She smiled again like it was a secret, but I knew she didn’t have any secrets from me. In some ways, I was the daughter to her that my mother had been, replacing an old memory with a new body. I had only one memory of my father chasing us into an ocean of snow so unblemished. My sister Kaley was just a baby, and my brother Winston and I could barely run on our toddler legs. After Winston and I had exhausted ourselves building forts, my mother had brewed hot chocolate on the stove, and we’d spent the day listening to my dad sing off-key Christmas carols while decorating the tree with popcorn we’d strung ourselves. My eyes crept over, and sure enough, there was that weighty sphere in my hand, clear as crystal, encompassing an ivory and gold haze that glowed ever so slightly like the active molten core of a planet. I also loved the “magical system.” The way the author introduces curses, the parallel universes existing together, the Truth orbs from the Dead King… all of this immersed me into the world. Zane I do think that the book was a little bit slow to get into the action but once you got there, it did not stop. I think for a debut novel for this author, it was a very strong beginning the character development, and the way that Helen was resistant to this new world felt realistic. It didn’t feel like she was just immediately accepting of it like a lot of modern world meets fantasy world books do. A Soul as Cold as Frost instantly transports you into a magical world that the whole family will adore. Fans of Chronicles of Narnia will be thrilled with this new wintery adventure!"
