This brand is dedicated to oriental perfumery and appeals to the modern enthusiast who is deeply intrigued by the mysticism of Arabic perfumery and traditional values. About The PerfumeArmaf Club House is a good fit. Derby is a wonderful smell to use on warmer days. Days when the sun is shining yet the temperature isn’t too hot. Perhaps in the midst of April. That’s where this scent will really shine! Appropriate for: Armaf Tres Nuit is perfect for hot days because of its fresh and green aroma. Consider the period between the end of spring to the beginning of summer. During this time, the fresh, green aroma will do wonders for you!

Among them is Oud which, like a few other designer releases, isn’t truly Oud but more about the idea of Oud. My friends that I go to college with, classify any attar as an Oud, ditto for fragrances with heavy woods. In fact, sales associates at Sephora and other perfume joints here frequently abuse Oud as a classification for a myriad of different fragrances. That is not to say that this happens at shops like Rasasi, but at Al-Haramain and Afnan, I’ve had rich leather and woody fragrances offered to me as Ouds. It’s cultural I guess, and I’ve gotten over it. Anyways, Armaf now has a “Niche” line of fragrances literally called “Armaf Niche”, complete with a shared bottle design for the whole line (more on this later for those who enjoy quirks). Most of these are fairly distinct scents with heavy inspiration from popular designer releases and I say distinct because the releases chosen aren’t particularly well-known outside of the fragrance community (like your average Sauvage, Aqua Di Gio, Aventus.etc.) This review is pretty long, there are links embedded in sentences throughout and if you want to get straight to the scent go to to the bold part that says R E V I E W.

They really do have a scent for any occasion. For the hot summer days, they offer fresh scents like Armaf Voyage Blue and Armaf Tres Nuit. But, like Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Woman, they also feature cold-weather perfumes with a deeper, warmer aroma. The lemon and verbena in Armaf Tres Nuit are an invigorating, fresh combination. The violet leaves will remind you of freshly cut grass whilst the spices add a hint of warmth. The sandalwood and ambergris add a long-lasting layer that you’ll still get a hint of on your skin the next day. As for other people’s opinions, I’ve seen this described as a “rubbery leather vanilla” and there were many comparisons to the old YSL M7 and Byredo’s 1996 Inez and Vinoodh. I can’t confirm either of these opinions as I haven’t smelled them, but in comparison to the “new” YSL La Collection bottle of M7 Oud Absolu, I see no resemblance, save for the Amber. In a similar vein Niche Oud has a much more dignified cousin in Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, but again, this is largely due to the Amber note.
