About this deal

According to Ed Ford of Rock N' Load, "If people wanted to know what the perfect rock album sounds like, give this a blast, you won’t hear much better. With Strange Girl, you’ll be met with a wall of sound but that’s far from a bad thing, especially for this style of music. It is a journey of navigating mental health, debauchery, survival, redemption, rediscovery, and still maintaining faith in humanity.

Terrible Things slows the tempo considerably, but it’s a beautiful song and Halestorm has the musical chops to deliver both ballad-styled tunes and heavy hitters alike.

We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Remember lockdown, that shapeless mass of wasted life in which time seemed to distort and bands had to swap real for virtual? During the lockdown period, the band was forced to cease their customary schedule of frequent touring while finding ways to financially support their staff and crew.

She truly has never sounded better and if Raise Your Horns doesn’t leave you impressed, you’re listening wrong for Hale is one of the greatest vocalists the world has ever known and even after all these years, she’s just getting started. It’s Halestorm 101 and while it may not break new ground, you know exactly what to expect and Halestorm delivers. Lzzy and her brother, drummer Arejay Hale, often site the towering, arena rock sounds of the '70s and '80s as inspirations, and that comes through on the release. The set is available digitally, as well as on CD and cassette tape, making this the first time the album has been offered in these formats. On the scorching track, Lzzy kicks things off by proclaiming, "Tonight I'm going heavy metal," before launching into a grunge-inspired chorus and singing, "If you don't care, then I don't care!

Their response could have been a flailing mess, but it isn’t – it’s Halestorm in totality, an already great act building new rails to replace the ones we all ran off. Halestorm began working on their fifth studio album slightly before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Alice in Chains) with co-production by Scott Stevens (Shinedown, Daughtry, New Year’s Day), Back From The Dead quickly evolved from songwriting exercises into a matter of survival for the band, taking the listener through ‘a journey of navigating mental health, debauchery, survival, redemption, and rediscovery, while still maintaining faith in humanity’ says frontwoman Lzzy Hale.

It’s as if the album was recorded for stereo and then mixed to the surround format as an afterthought.
